This e-commerce platform company is based in Amsterdam and is part of one of the biggest Dutch networks within the media world. They focus on online auctions and with their innovative and entertaining content they reach a lot of Dutchies on a daily basis. Approximately 5 million visitors and 29 million pageviews per month and over 350.000 auctions per month through their online platform.

They are looking for a talented, passionate and experienced hands-on Python Engineer to join one of the teams and help to bring their sites to the next level.

Team

The whole organisation contains of 200 FTE’s and the current development team contains 40 FTE’s at this moment, but is still groing.

The international technology team brings a lot of people together. They work in cells: small teams. Every cell is responsible for a component within the technological landscape of this company. Together with your team you will come up with technical requirements. You will work Agile-based in a Data Warehouse Scrum team with a lot of independence and responsibilty to create the role after your personality.

Function

As Senior Data Engineer you are ensuring that the application perform well. You are also developing new back-end functionalities in multiple business projects. In collaboration with your team you will improve the current data-processing platform and connected systems. This company is continuously delivering new functionalities.

You offer

• A Bachelor or Master degree in a related field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering)
• A minimum of 3 years work experience with Python
• Knowledge and experience with SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Knowledge and experience with Big Data
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Pre: experience with Apache Airflow or Apache Kafka or Kafka Connect
