Organisation & Team :

 This startup was found in 2018 by three friends. They are now based in The Hague. This organisation has the possibility to reduce food waste by better preventions. This organisation collects a broad range of data on a regular basis. This data will be mapped the harvest on a field level. They do this by observiong drone data, data of the weather and planting schemes. Once the data is collected, this is aggregated on business level and to let growers know exactly how much can be harvested and sold within the future. Next, the total supply within a product category can be made more meaningfull by the correct insights. With all these insights both growers and distributors gain several weeks to anticipate on product fluctuations. They then have enough time to find demand for all the supply.

This organisation help snot only growers, but also agricultural service providers, distributors and processors. Within this organisation the power of data in the value chain is given.This organisation started with three friends and now contains of 15+ people. This team consists of people with various expertises including developers, machine learning engineers, computer vision specialists and deep learning specialist.

Function:

As a Python developer you will become part of the product team.  You will be in charge of the Django REST API and help the organisation with the migration to the cloud. Moreover you will help with the processing of the muddy data to the cloud.

  • Develop, design and maintain their back-end data-infrastructure including pipelines and databases;
  • Design and setup a secure but agile testing framework;
  • Agree upon development priorities with the rest of the product team;
  • Experience with geospatical data is a pre;
  • Work with Tech Lead and CTO on developing and executing a technological vision.

You will start working in a start-up environment, which means you should like to grow within the organisation. The tech stack this organisation works with consists of Python, Kubernetes, Docker, Django, Jira, React and Gitlab.

Since this organisation is a start-up, they are looking for a candidate who is more a generalist within some domains (data engineer, software development, QA engineering).

  • 3 years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience with Django Rest Framwork;
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure : AWS;
  • Experience with Docker;
  • Experience with different storage types and databases;
  • Affinity with designing data pipelines to support ML workflows, kubernetes and spatial data.
  • Pragmatic developer, preferable with startup experience.
